In lieu of some inspirational anecdote… a laundry list for your reading pleasure.

I’m Nicole, 19, and exist in two Californian locales; Davis on weekdays and Los Gatos on most weekends and holidays (although I am originally from San Jose, born and raised).

I appreciate all forms of culture - music, television, paper media, culinary and otherwise - to a dangerous, and almost obsessive, degree. While rummaging through my iPhoto library, it will become evident that I enjoy playing Vanity (Fair) with my colleagues; we know what we are and we have no shame. Srsly. I have twelve or so magazine subscriptions running at once, among them Time, Harper’s Bazaar, and my personal favorite - W.

I was a yearbook editor in my past life and still have not fallen out of love with Adobe inDesign.  I often dream of the Columbia Crowns (UPDATE: dreams sometimes become reality!)

Although my workspace is more or less organized chaos, my pursuit is ultimately effective. I work best when crowded by visual inspiration. In theory, minimalism is valuable but in practice, it is simply stupid.

I am a non-practicing Buddhist, although I do consider myself a devout follower of Randy Cohen, the New York Times’ Ethicist and Peter Segal & Carl Kasell of Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me.

I believe in people who believe in themselves. Like Maya Angelou, Cecil Williams, and Janice Mirikitani. I believe in social justice organizations. Like Glide.

Currently, I attend UC Davis, where I am pursuing a double major in International Relations and Design, with a minor in French.
